Oil filter thread size chart for heavy-duty spin-on filters
This chart lists every spin-on thread in our catalogue, for oil filters and for the fuel, hydraulic and coolant spin-ons that share the same threads.
How to read the thread size
Inch threads are written as diameter-threads per inch. "1-14" is a 1 inch nominal diameter with 14 threads per inch. "1.1/8-16" is 1 1/8 inch with 16 threads per inch.
A G prefix marks a BSP parallel pipe thread (ISO 228-1): "G1.1/4-11" is G 1 1/4 with 11 threads per inch. BSP sizes have a fixed pitch, so a G thread with an unexpected count is worth checking before ordering.
How to measure a thread
Measure the outside diameter of the threaded stud on the filter head, or the inside diameter of the thread in the filter, with a caliper. Count the threads per inch with a thread gauge. Thread alone does not identify a filter: check gasket size, height and diameter too.
