CCV Filters: Crankcase Ventilation Filters for Diesel Engines
CCV filters (crankcase ventilation filters) for heavy-duty diesel engines, supplied to your OEM number. Send the number or a photo of the old filter and we confirm the match before you order.
What a CCV filter does
A closed crankcase ventilation (CCV) system takes blow-by gases from the crankcase, separates the oil mist and returns the oil to the sump. The CCV filter, also called a crankcase filter or crankcase breather filter, is the element that catches that oil mist. When it clogs, crankcase pressure rises and oil can be pushed past seals and into the intake.
When to replace a crankcase filter
Follow the engine maker's service interval. Signs of a clogged crankcase filter include oil leaks at seals, oil in the intake or turbocharger, and a high crankcase pressure reading.
How to order
- Send the OEM or cross-reference number from the old filter.
- No number? Send a photo of the filter, its label and a ruler beside it.
- We confirm the match and quote with the full specifications. Before you pay, we send photos of the actual filter with its measurements.
Questions
Is a CCV filter the same as a crankcase breather filter?
Often it is the same part: engine makers use crankcase ventilation filter, CCV filter, crankcase filter and breather filter for the element in the CCV system. Match by part number, not by name.
